PHYSICAL THERAPY FAQ

We understand that beginning physical therapy can come with many questions, and we're here to help. Our Physical Therapy FAQ is designed to provide answers to some of the most common queries we receive. Whether you're curious about session lengths, insurance coverage, appropriate attire, or the number of sessions you might need, we've got you covered. We also provide information on referrals, accepted payment types, what to expect during your first visit, and the overall cost of physical therapy. Our goal is to make your experience as smooth and informative as possible, so you can focus on your journey to better health and wellness.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

Each session will last approximately 45 - 60 minutes. Times may vary slightly due to treatments and exercises utilized.

DO YOU ACCEPT MY INSURANCE?

We participate in most major health insurance plans. Please contact us prior to your first visit to see if we participate with your specific plan.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We recommend wearing comfortable and/or loose clothes that make it easy for you to move around. Tennis or athletic shoes are ideal. Layers or a change of clothes may be necessary for access to particular areas for manual therapy or dry needling.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I HAVE?

Based on your diagnoses and needs, we will develop a treatment plan that's right for you. Your number of visits will be determined during your first visit with us.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

In most cases, no. Connecticut is a Direct Access state, meaning that you do not need a doctor referral to see your preferred physical therapist. There are a couple of exceptions, but we will review this with you if applicable.

WHAT PAYMENT TYPES DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept cash, check, and card, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR THE FIRST VISIT?

Your initial appointment will be approximately 1 hour long --- A few minutes to complete paperwork --- A full Evaluation with Baseline Testing and Measurements --- Review your goals --- Create a Home Exercise program --- Establish a Plan of Care

HOW MUCH WILL PHYSICAL THERAPY COST ME?

The cost of your visit depends on your specific insurance benefits for physical therapy. Normally, patients have a copay or deductible. Once you are scheduled, we will contact your insurance company to get a quote of your physical therapy benefits.

Physical Therapy FAQ will answer all of your PT questions.
